Barhale proud to announce its decision to join the ‘Business in the Community’ (BITC) network.
13th September 2024Barhale has always been a company with strong values and a demonstrable commitment to society. That’s why our founder and Chairman, Dennis Curran has decided to cement our role as a business for good with BITC membership. Dennis has maintained links with ‘Business in the Community’ for many years, recently attending their ‘Seeing is Believing’ event in Wisbech, an area we have been investing in for some time. Now, alongside Anglian Water and the alliance partners, we have committed to delivering a Green Skills Academy, which will deliver vital environmental skills.
As the UK’s largest responsible business network, backed by His Majesty the King, we aim to align our existing purpose-driven social impact and sustainability strategy with BITC initiatives and campaigns to drive greater positive change across all our regions. As a new member, this investment demonstrates Barhale’s commitment to working fairer, greener and together with like-minded organisations and purposeful leaders to deliver positive impact for people, planet and prosperity.
Barhale’s social impact & sustainability lead, Luana Bills, said: “Barhale people inherently do good things for the communities in which they operate. This latest collaboration reinforces our commitment to what I believe is the most critical sustainable development goal: SDG 17 – partnerships for the goals. By joining this wider community, we are poised to come together with fellow businesses, local authorities and NGOs to maximise place-based plans through effective, local partnerships.”
