Barhale has been appointed by United Utilities AMP8 Build Only framework focusing on direct delivery across programmes for Non-Infra and Other Major Capital Works; Better Rivers; and Non-Complex Specialists.

The civil engineering, infrastructure and tunnelling specialist has been appointed a Lot 2 of the £2bn framework covering Water Networks & Water Network Pipelines, Wastewater Networks & Wastewater Network Pipelines, Pumping Stations & Storage and Reservoirs. Although initially a five-year appointment, United Utilities will retain the option to extend the framework for a further five years post PR29.

Barhale (Regional Director, North Region) James Ingamells, underlined the ambition of the AMP8 programme.

“Against this Lot alone, United Utilities has set out one of the largest programmes of work ever for an AMP8 period,” he said. “In particular, there is a huge focus on SCOs across the initial five years – around 400 will be targeted for rehabilitation and improvement – many of them around Manchester and Cheshire.”
