Barhale successfully delivered an awkward sewer repair in Manchester that needed us to think outside of the box because of a hospital being constructed over the sewer.

We designed and constructed a timber heading from the manhole outside of the hospital footprint, under the building to the manhole in the x-ray room. We broke into the manhole from outside and re-laid the pipework.

Given that this was a live hospital environment, we had to work adjacent to the ambulance emergency route as well as the A&E ambulance entrance. The team were diligent in coordinating all deliveries and working on a very tight site alongside other contractors.

Well done to the whole team for providing an innovative solution to a tricky situation whilst robustly managing the logistical challenges the project presented.
