IOS Alliance Health and Wellbeing Open Day
11th October 2018To promote World Mental Health Day, Barhale’s Health and Wellbeing Lead, Jo Southan and Head of Learning and Development, Rob Houghton, invited the IOS Alliance to take part in a health and wellbeing open day entitled ‘Socially fulfilling here at Great Billing’.
The 2 hour session was made to be as fun and interactive as possible to get the most engagement out of the team. Activities included a chit chat icebreaker, people bingo, a musical quiz and a themed treasure hunt. The team got to know a little bit more about each other, which ties in with one of the 5 ways to wellbeing (connect with others) and also our company values of TeamSpirit and Communication. There was laughter, banter and bacon butties.
A few members of the team made a ‘pledge’ to demonstrate their commitment to change how we think and act about mental health in the workplace and make sure that colleagues who are facing these problems feel supported.
Michael Burke, Ganger from the Eastern region made the following pledge to “Engage, be open and mindful of others I live and work alongside at any given time”.
The session was well received and a real success, plans are being made to offer it to the wider business.
