Trainee Engineer

We are seeking an enthusiastic trainee engineer who wants to gain valuable on-site engineering experience in the Midlands area. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or a student of mechanical or civil engineering looking for a sandwich placement. This exciting role will include setting out works and understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving problems with both creative and logical solutions. You’ll need to be able to develop professional working relations with all stakeholders and be able to deliver accurate and timely works. Previous work experience would be advantageous, however enthusiasm and determination to succeed are equally important.

Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support to project teams, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
The successful applicant will hold excellent interpersonal and communication skills as they will liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual who has previous experience in the industry, familiar with ICE/NEC contracts and keen to deliver accurate reports and ensure adherence to commercial processes.

Planner

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Planner to assist with the planning of live projects within the region. You will work with the other members of the project teams to develop, monitor and maintain contracts and as built programmes. This involves helping to ensure both the operational and commercial members of the team are fully appraised to the critical activities and risks of the respective projects at all times, and you will be required to work closely with the commercial department for cost loading of programmes. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with experience working in civils, waste or water sectors and excellent planning software skills.

Trainee Buyer

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic individual to join our Walsall-based Procurement Team as a Trainee Buyer.  This is an excellent opportunity to grow and development within the procurement discipline, guided by a friendly and inclusive team. The role would ideally suit a recent graduate, looking for their first procurement role, who is keen and demonstrates the right qualities in order to succeed in a career within this field. You will be responsible for some materials procurement, and providing reliable and good quality support to the rest of the team. You will need to be a confident communicator who is happy to liaise with all stakeholders, including site teams and suppliers, and you will be able to demonstrate excellent written communication and IT skills.

HR Administrator

The HR Administrator is to provide an efficient and streamlined service to the business with regard to all HR-related administrative tasks. This role has a wide remit which includes all HR admin plus responsibility for the co-ordination of Company benefits via our providers. The post holder will also be responsible for general administration connected to the Company car scheme. Key responsibilities include: pre-employment processes for new starters, reference checking, probation process as well as general HR admin to include contract changes, maintaining filing systems and general office administration. The successful candidate will have previous HR administration experience, exceptional organisational abilities, possess a common sense approach and be a great communicator.

Internal Sales Executive

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven individual into this exciting opportunity based at our offices in Walsall. As the Internal Sales Executive, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing your own customer portfolio, with a keen focus on account management, in order to capitalise on customer relationships, follow up leads and maximise the potential for growth of the BCS business. To do this you will have proven experience within a busy sales team and you will be able to demonstrate how you have prioritized your workload in order to maximize your impact on sales targets and business objectives. A great communicator, you will be confident in dealing with all levels of personnel and other stakeholders. You should also have a finely honed commercial awareness and be committed towards great customer service.

Account Manager

The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and developing their own customer portfolio, with a keen focus on account management, in order to capitalise on customer relationships, follow up leads and maximise the potential for growth of the BCS business. The role will involve providing advice to customers regarding their selections of products and services, ensuring a high standard of delivery and dealing with any complaints and issues. It will also involve assisting the telesales team and developing the sales and marketing plan as well as compiling performance reports. The successful candidate should demonstrate account management experience within a busy sales environment, be an excellent communicator with the ability to network well and have drive and ambition to deliver results.

Senior Estimator

We currently have a requirement for a Senior Estimator within the Walsall office to lead estimates for civil engineering works in accordance with Company estimating systems and procedures. You will work with other members of the tender teams to develop customer solutions and secure sufficient work in terms of value and type in order to meet Company objectives. The successful candidate will be required to identify opportunity and risk during the tendering process, agree methodology and principles, present estimates at adjudication and maintain knowledge of site processes and costs. You will require experience in civils, water, waste, rail or tunnelling disciplines, an understanding of construction techniques and be familiar with tender build-ups, as well as having good time management and prioritisation skills.

Design Engineer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Design Engineer to carry out detailed design and checking of temporary works and minor permanent works for civil engineering. The role also involves providing technical support to assist with operational activities and developing value engineered alternative solutions. The successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal skills, to liaise with customers, suppliers and third parties, and assist with the approval of suppliers. This role is primarily based at our Walsall office but provides national coverage which may require occasional travel throughout the UK. Please apply if you have significant experience within the civil engineering field and hold working knowledge of industry specifications, engineering management, construction processes and technical design.

Project Manager

We are currently seeking a Project Manager for the Southern Region to deliver multiple on-going projects, to the specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The role involves working closely with the Estimating Department, engineers and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner, whilst ensuring customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded. This role would suit someone with experience of managing projects within a civils/water environment and knowledge of the NEC contract including the Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms. You should also have excellent communication, people and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and mentor, and relevant site qualifications.
