Progress update from Burton Lazars
28th October 2024We have been busy working collaboratively with Severn Trent on our works at Burton Lazars sewage treatment works, two miles southeast of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. The main driver of these works which includes the construction and handover of a new terminal sewage pump, is to reduce phosphorous levels of the new rising main.
A large section of the pipeline was directional drilled in house, providing environmental benefits due to reducing the amount of excavation work needed.
With careful planning, stakeholder management where we have been working closely, managing relationships and using proactive communication with landowners as well as using sustainable solutions to reduce our carbon footprint, we are on track for a very successful completion of the project.
The site team are working hard to ensure that we will be complete by December 2024 for STW by providing a pumped away solution with demolition of the existing works to shortly follow.
Thanks to the entire team for continuing to do a tremendous job, delivering this important wastewater treatment works project for Severn Trent Water.
